Head of the Al-Fateh Parliamentary Bloc resigns from Parliament

Parliamentary sources said on Saturday that the leader of the “Al-Fateh” coalition, the Secretary-General of Badr Organization, has submitted a formal request to resign from the Iraqi parliament.

Al-Amiri submitted a formal request to the parliament presidency to resign, without further details, the sources told Alghadeer News.

This comes at a time when a session was held in the Iraqi parliament with the presence of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to vote on the remaining vacant ministerial portfolios.

A parliamentary source said that the quorum for the meeting was achieved with the attendance of 247 members of the parliament from various parliamentary blocs.

The leader of Badr Organization, Abdul Karim Al-Ansari is the alternative candidate for the head of the organization, Hadi al-Amiri in the parliament.
