US military base in Erbil targeted by drone: report

An Iraqi resistance group reported a drone strike on the US Al-Harir military base in Erbil, Iraq.

Iraqi news outlets reported a drone strike on US Al-Harir military base in Erbil, Iraq, on Friday. According to the report, an Iraqi resistance group called ‘Lawae Al-Saerin’ claimed responsibility for the attack.

“An unmanned aerial system impacted a coalition base in Kurdistan” in the early hours of Friday, coalition spokesman US Colonel Wayne Marotto said in a statement.

No further details have been released about the attack.

The US base at Erbil Airport in Iraq has been targeted several times by rockets and drones in recent months.
