Tehran: Fifth round of talks with Saudi Arabia was positive

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed in a press conference on Monday, that the fifth round of talks with Saudi Arabia was positive.

The spokesman said: The Iranian-Saudi talks that took place in Baghdad last Thursday thanks to the efforts of the Iraqi and Omani governments, were positive and progressive.

Khatibzadeh added that the transfer of centrifuges from Karaj to Natanz was done with the IAEA’s knowledge. Under the agency Charter, we are allowed to take any action based on our peaceful needs with the agency’s knowledge and oversight.

Khatibzadeh indicated that large-scale cyber attacks that sought to target public services and government services in Iran were thwarted.

He criticized the lack of binding international laws in the field of cyberspace and added that different countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, have always tried to make some laws and regulations in these areas as a global memorandum of understanding.

Unfortunately, he added, there are several thousand cyber-attacks every day on various websites, bases, institutions, and ministries in Iran, and monitoring them is not an easy task, stressing that we are following this issue as you are the National Cyberspace Center putting it on the agenda.

Referring to the developments of the situation at the Dogaron border crossing between Iran and Afghanistan, he said: We are concerned about the recurrence of tension on the border with Afghanistan and we exercise restraint and are ready to train Afghan border guards to ensure border security and how to manage it. The Afghan side should not exploit the restraint of the Iranian border guards
