The Ministry of Health announced that all groups will be included in the third booster dose of coronavirus vaccines, even if they are from the previously specified categories.

A member of the health media team, Muhammad Kamel, said in an interview seen by Al-Ghadeer that “the ministry will allow the groups not covered to receive the booster dose of the corona vaccine by vaccination, because the ministry is striving hard to mitigate the next epidemic wave.”

And he indicated that “the ministry has a large abundance of vaccines and its outlets are distributed in all regions, so there can be a booster dose for those who are not covered by it.”

He stressed that “the dose does not require that it be of the same type of vaccine that the person received six months ago, and it can be from another vaccine where the recipient was vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine (Sinopharma) and the third booster dose from the American (Pfizer).”

Yesterday, Thursday, the Federal Ministry of Health announced the registration of the first cases of the “Omicron” mutant for a number of returnees from travel, through genetic tracking tests conducted by the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad.

And she pointed out, “5 cases of omicron were recorded from Dohuk governorate, and a number of cases were from foreign diplomats in Baghdad.”

For his part, the Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region, Saman Al-Barzanji, confirmed in a press conference yesterday, that “the injured are members of one family and reside in the Dohuk governorate, and they had returned from outside the country.”

He explained that “the health condition of all the injured is stable and they do not need to be placed under medical care.”

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health authorized last November 30 to give a third dose of the Corona vaccine, while determining the inclusion of certain groups in it, those with immunodeficiency diseases, those with chronic diseases, the elderly over the age of 60 years, and workers in health institutions, after a period of no less than Six months after receiving the second dose.”
